Why St. Louis Catholic

At St. Louis, our Catholic faith is the cornerstone of what we do. It fuels the community of love and respect that allows every student to thrive in his or her own way.

There’s something for everyone.  About 80% of St. Louis students participate in athletics. Nearly 100% participate in at least one team, club or other activity. And every student is part of our House System, which creates a “community within a community” that binds members together for years to come.

St. Louis academics are second-to-none. Over the last five years, St. Louis graduates have been offered billions in scholarships, earned an average 24.2 on the ACT and collectively completed several college credit hours before finishing high school. These accomplishments are due in part to some of the outstanding academic programs available at St. Louis Catholic High School, including:

  • Our dual enrollment program includes 14 collegiate courses in eight subjects to jump-start your student’s post-secondary education beginning in the tenth grade.
  • Our Advanced Placement program features 15 courses in a variety of subjects.
  • St. Louis offers a number of non-traditional courses that prepare students for college, careers and life, including carpentry, media arts, computer architecture, family and consumer sciences, photography and more.
  • Theology is not only part of the curriculum at St. Louis Catholic, it is woven into our everyday experiences with school-wide prayer every morning, prayer before individual classes, and weekly masses and liturgical celebrations to include recognizing key feast days and solemnities.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach at St. Louis Catholic High School.  Our smaller classes and tight-knit community provide an ideal environment for every student to thrive.  No matter what a student desires to accomplish, St. Louis Catholic strives to help them succeed in their goals.  Every Saint has a place at St. Louis Catholic High School.

Financial Aid & Scholarships

There are several different options to apply for need based financial aid to attend St. Louis Catholic High School.  Families may apply for In-House Tuition Assistance through the school, Endowed Scholarships through our SLCHS Foundation, or through the additional financial assistance opportunities listed below.

***Please note that the financial aid & scholarships listed below are separate applications from the Admissions application to attend St. Louis Catholic.  You must submit an Admissions application in order for your child to be accepted for enrollment.

In order to qualify and apply for in-house tuition assistance, parents must:

  • Complete the FACTS Financial Aid application process. The application deadline for the 2026-2027 school year was April 17, 2026.
  • Provide the previous year’s W2 forms and tax returns, as stated in the FACTS application.
  • Pay the application fee of $45 at the time of application.
  • Be a currently enrolled student at St. Louis Catholic High School OR have an active 2026-2027 Admissions application on file.
  • Demonstrate a need as determined by FACTS and the St. Louis Catholic High School Tuition Assistance Committee.

This is open to all students applying for admission to St. Louis Catholic High School.

These scholarships, made possible through generous donations to the St. Louis Catholic Foundation, provide tuition assistance and allow us to welcome into our faith community deserving students who may not otherwise have access to a Catholic education.

To be considered, all SLCHS Foundation scholarship applications must be fully completed, and applicants must also have submitted an application for admissions or have completed enrollment for St. Louis Catholic High School.  Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.  Please note that these scholarships are partial awards only, and each scholarship has specific criteria that will be reviewed and evaluated by the Scholarship Committee.

If you have any questions, please contact Ashley Ivey-Atkins, Foundation & Planned Giving Specialist, at stlouiscatholicfoundation@gmail.com.

There are currently 26 scholarships available to students who meet criteria as outlined by each donor.  Students are considered for these scholarships based on their SLCHS Endowed Scholarship Application.  Application Deadline for the 2026-2027 school year was April 17, 2026.

The Louisiana Giving All True Opportunity to Rise (LA GATOR) Scholarship Program began accepting online student applications at 9:00am on March 1 for the 2026-2027 school year.  The deadline for both new applicants and returning recipients is 11:59pm on March 16.

Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, the LA GATOR Scholarship Program replaced the Louisiana Scholarship Program (LSP).  For the LA GATOR Scholarship Program, the LA Department of Education is partnered with Odyssey, an experienced technology provider, to manage the program.  Odyssey assists in the onboarding process, application verification, and host the online marketplace where families will manage their scholarship accounts.  Additional program information is available at the LA GATOR Scholarship Program page.  Sign-up for the LA GATOR Newsletter to receive program updates as they come available.  For questions contact the call center at 225-422-1538 or via email at help.la@withodyssey.com.

This is open to all students applying for admission to St. Louis Catholic High School.

The Ace Scholarship program is committed to helping low-income parents provide their children with a great education at a school of their choice.  The application fee is $10 for current ACE families and $25 for new families for the upcoming school year.  Applications opened at 8:00am on February 2, 2026, and they closed on April 15, 2026.  Click here for eligibility requirements.

The ACE application is now a separate application from the St. Louis Catholic In-House Tuition Assistance application in FACTS, and 2025 tax returns must be submitted.  Beginning this year, applicants had to complete the application in the same sitting.  Once the application is started, you are not be able to save your progress and return later.   The ACE Help Center contains valuable information for families to assist in navigating the application process.  You can also email lasupport@acescholarships.com or call (856) 746-6521.

Tuition assistance is provided at 50% of the state’s per pupil funding for the student’s district. In Calcasieu Parish, that total is approximately $2,500. Assistance may not exceed the cost of school tuition, and families are responsible for the remaining balance.

The School Choice Application opened on February 2, 2026, and closed on March 6, 2026.  For questions about the application process, please contact studentscholarships@la.gov for assistance.

This is a School Choice application that is open to all students with special needs who would like to attend St. Louis Catholic High School.

Saint for a Day

St. Louis Catholic High School is best known for its academic reputation, but the lived experience includes so much more. Eighth grade students are invited to attend our time-honored event—Saint for a Day—with our Saints Ambassadors and discover what it means to be a Saint!

Saints are open to growth in different ways: in faith, in commitment to academic success, and in becoming a leader within our school community. Saints are also open to being formed by one another -- by the stories, traditions, and experiences of a student body representing racial, ethnic, socioeconomic and geographic diversity.

Saints are driven. They utilize today as the building blocks of tomorrow. At St. Louis Catholic, high school is about becoming a lifelong learner. We are St. Louis Catholic, and you can be a Saint too!
